I'd have to say i am happier with this set then the last Divine set that was shown to us. This seems like a more feasible purchase.
Female Human Barbarian
Good: Solid fighting stance, character works great flowing hair, gives feel of an epic warrior.
Bad: The cape is a horrible idea, it seemed like someone said "i want to have her standing on one leg, but how do we keep her up, lets build a big ugly cape".
Ugly: Holy Blue batman, its like a car accident you can not look away but you want to.
Final: Over all good Miniatures, not worth buying the set for just this one.
Male Human Druid
Good: The miniature over all looks pretty solid and fits for a druid and can even work as a shamen. Also looks like it would pass for some weird looking half-elf as the ears look pointed (at least in the pic) Any miniature that can server multiple purposes is pretty solid.
Bad: Nothing back to complain about
Ugly: The hand, hair and ears look out of place.
Final: Great miniature, worth the purchase
Male Halfling Barbarian
Good: The Halfling Barbarian is a common build these days, people like being small but powerful.
Bad: No scars or paint on the chest, its just clean like a professional swimmer. Also hard to tell what is on his head and neck.
Ugly: The sword, i mean it does not scream barbarian to me, i would have like to have seen an axe of something more brutal. My preferred stance would be bent back with the axe up in the air to look as if the halfing was coming down on its target with great force.
Final: Another great miniature, worth picking up. Part of me wants him to carry a club and have a horned helm so he can be Bobby the Barbarian
I give the set an overall 2/3 pretty solid, if your paying $12.59 it may be a bit much, you can get a set of tiles for the same price. i would probably hold off and wait to see who else from your group is interested. If your stuck paying around $15 then its your call, i wouldn't when i can just buy a monster pack and get more for my money.
If your not going to buy locally may i suggest my Amazon store (i know self plug)
Until next time, keep your dice on the table.
Agreed with the blue cape on the female barbarian. Her blue armor and cape make her look like she's wearing some kind of crystalline armor that suits more to be a superhero.
ReplyDeleteThe halfling is suppose to be from Eberron and he's wearing the skull of a raptor with its jaws open for the face.
