Tonight was pretty fun, this weekend in Canada is a long weekend so we got to play for a bit longer. Instead of our normal two encounters we got a third one in. One player had to duck out after the second one anyway, but it was already. I adjusted the encounter and we went on. Lots of talk about martial arts, the theories behind players handbook 3 classes, twitter and the auto build feature on DDI:CB.
In Game
The group continued on their way through the swamplands until they came across an outcropping that rose above the rest of the swamp. In the distance the saw an old tower. Pax had heard about this tower, said to be occupied by a mad wizards. Since the trail lead this way the group decided to proceed.
Encounter 4: Troll Boss
They arrived at the tower, but it was past a bridge. Fearing that it might collapse some of the group decided to leap across on their horses. The bridge did not look damaged, it was more of a precaution. Upon further investigation of the area they were ambushed by hidden trolls. It was a fierce and long battle, the regenerative powers of the trolls were no match for the fire weapons, but this did not matter as the troll witch healed her comrades none the less.
When the fight was done they were victorious, not much was to be found but a few gold, and a letter that appeared to be from the vampire troll.
The group decided to take a breather [see bottom] and continue back out.
Encounter 5: Quick little turds
the groups travel led them into a opening in the swamp land, one area looked almost civilized due to the fact some trees were cut down. All of a sudden the party heard buzzing and saw blurry shadows swoop across the terrain, they were under attack by quicklings. The quicklings were fast and furious but were no match for the dwavers who were able to hit them time and time again. The battle was over as fast as it started, and it seemed as if one quickling was missing.
The party knew they must be getting close to their destination, and continued into a dark cave.
Encounter 6: Enter the Cult
Dead dragonborn littered the cave entrance, two dragonborn guards and a dragonborn wizards were waiting. As well a minotaur stayed hidden. Pax was disturbed by the dead dragonborn, and knew one of the guards. He ferociously fought them while the caster and cleric stayed back and filled the room with area and zone attacks holding their enemies at bay.
